SsangYong: From commercial vehicles to sought-after automobiles

The basis of SsangYong was a commercial vehicle manufacturer called Ha Dong-hwan Motor Co. Ltd. founded in 1954, which initially produced buses and trucks, among other things. Thirty years later, the manufacturer's first SUV was finally introduced: The Korando, equipped with all-wheel drive, was a Jeep replica and was on the market from 1984. Two years later followed the renaming of the company into its now familiar name: SsangYong.

Performance that convinces

Over the years, the South Korean carmaker has made a name for itself primarily with all-wheel-drive vehicles. One of the most famous SUVs is the SsangYong Musso from 1993. Although its unusual design received mixed reviews, its performance was so undisputed that it was only replaced by a successor model in 2005.
