The Porsche Principle

Founder Ferdinand Porsche had already made a name for himself as a renowned designer for many years and had received several honorary doctorates before setting up his own design office, Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH (later KG, today AG), in 1930.

The first vehicle to be released under the brand name was the original model Porsche 356. The sports car was sold in several generations, the first of which was still built by hand.

Its successor and at the same time probably the most famous vehicle model of the manufacturer is the Porsche 911, which was introduced in 1963. The unique combination of racing and road car makes it the most successful Porsche of all times and the inspiration for many other models. But it is not only the German brand's sports cars that have remained in demand for years. The Macan and Cayenne SUVs are Porsche's best-selling models worldwide.
