With ups and downs to success

The history of the Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo is characterised by numerous ups and downs, but above all by the determination never to give up and never to compromise on design and performance.

The car factory was originally founded by a Frenchman in Milan, later taken over by a series of Italian businessmen and finally received its present name from the engineer Nicola Romeo, who first produced munitions and only later civilian vehicles.

Alfa Romeo goes into series production

After the car manufacturer still focused on racing in the 1930s and historically even became the first world champion in motor racing, it turned its attention to series production in the 1950s. Many of the models introduced at that time, with designations such as Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Alfa Romeo Giulia, can still be found in the streamlined model range today. One of the most popular models is the Alfa Romeo Spider, which was introduced as early as 1966 and is still sold.
